Maßnahmen zum Klimaschutz

Umgehend Maßnahmen zur Bekämpfung des Klimawandels und seiner Auswirkungen ergreifen

Klimaschutz ist im Wesentlichen ein Bestandteil von Umweltschutz. Jedoch wird beim Klimaschutz ein spezielles Augenmerk auf die Emissionen in die Erdatmosphäre gelegt. Klima schützen bedeutet, möglichst wenig schädigende Substanzen in die Atmosphäre freizusetzen ( z.B. CO₂ , Methan, Lachgas).

Klimaschutz bedeutet aber nicht nur die Vermeidung von die  Atmosphäre schädigenden Stoffen, sondern auch den Schutz von natürlichen CO₂-Senken wie beispielsweise Regenwäldern und Waldgebieten oder Ozeanen und Gewässern. Auch Maßnahmen zur Anpassung an veränderte Bedingungen für Mensch und Umwelt durch Klimaänderungen gehören zum "Gesamtpaket" Klimaschutz.

Das wichtigste Ziel von Klimaschutzmaßnahmen ist:

gegen die globale Erwärmung und die Folgen des Klimawandels vorzugehen und rechtzeitig Gegenmaßnahmen einzuleiten.

NDC_ Nationale Klimabeiträge

Mit dem Pariser Klimaabkommen verpflichten sich fast alle Länder der Welt, den globalen Temperaturanstieg auf deutlich unter zwei Grad Celsius, möglichst 1,5 Grad Celsius, über dem vorindustriellen Niveau zu begrenzen und sich an die Folgen des Klimawandels anzupassen.

Was erreicht werden soll:

• Den globalen Tem­peratur­an­stieg auf 1,5 Grad Celsius begrenzen, globale Treib­haus­gas-Neutra­lität zur Jahr­hundert­mitte erreichen.
• Die politi­schen Rahmen­bedin­gun­gen in Schwellen- und Ent­wick­lungs­ländern für den Kli­ma­schutz ver­bessern.
• Den wirt­schaft­lichen Wieder­auf­bau nach der Co­rona-Krise für öko­lo­gische Weichen­stellun­gen nutzen.
• Inter­natio­nale Finanz­insti­tutio­nen mit den Kli­ma­zielen von Paris kom­patibel machen.
• Den Privat­sektor für den globalen Klima­schutz mobilisieren.
• 50 Schwellen- und Ent­wick­lungs­länder bis 2025 bei der Um­setzung ihrer Klima­ziele und der Am­bitions­steige­rung im Klima­schutz unter­stützen.
• 500 Millionen arme und verwund­bare Menschen bis 2025 gegen Klima­risiken absichern.
• Privates Engage­ment für Klima­schutz und nach­haltige Ent­wick­lung in unseren Part­ner­ländern mobi­lisieren.

Goal 13 – Climate

Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

Climate protection is essentially a component of environmental protection. However, climate protection pays special attention to emissions into the earth's atmosphere. Protecting the climate means releasing as few harmful substances as possible into the atmosphere (e.g. CO2 , methane, nitrous oxide).

Sustainable Development Goal 13 urges to take action to combat climate change and its impacts*. Climate change is now affecting every country on every continent. It is disrupting national economies and affecting lives, costing people, communities and countries dearly today and even more tomorrow. People are experiencing the significant impacts of climate change, which include changing weather patterns, rising sea levels, and more extreme weather events. Greenhouse gas emissions from human activities are driving climate change and are continuing to rise. They are now at their highest levels in history. Without action, the world's average surface temperature is projected to rise over the 21st century and is likely to surpass 3ºC this century-with some areas of the world expected to warm even more.

Space technologies play a central role in:

• Climate change monitoring
• Weather forecasting
• Disaster management
• Search and rescue operations

NDC_ National Climate Contributions

With the Paris Climate Agreement, almost all countries of the world commit to limit the global temperature increase to well below two degrees Celsius, preferably 1.5 degrees Celsius, above pre-industrial levels and to adapt to the consequences of climate change.

Climate justice is a term used for framing global warming as an ethical and political issue, rather than one that is purely environmental or physical in nature. This is done by relating the effects of climate change to concepts of justice, particularly environmental justice and social justice and by examining issues such as equality, human rights; collective rights, and the historical responsibilities for climate. Everyone can help to make sure that we meet the Global Goals.

·         Limit global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius, achieve global greenhouse gas neutrality by mid-century.

·         Improve the political framework in emerging and developing countries for climate protection.

·         Use the economic reconstruction after the Corona crisis to set an ecological course.

·         Make international financial institutions compatible with the Paris climate goals.

·         Mobilize the private sector for global climate protection.

·         Support 50 emerging and developing countries by 2025 in implementing their climate goals and increasing their climate ambition.

·          Insure 500 million poor and vulnerable people against climate risks by 2025.

·         Mobilize private engagement for climate protection and sustainable development in our partner countries.
